Mobile Jam Fest

Mission

Mobile Jam Fest has been developed and produced by a community of creative youth, individuals, and organizations who work in a variety of different sectors for the purpose of providing democratic, positive and safe platforms for youth to create and collaborate.

These sectors include non-profit, corporate, educational and governmental agencies. Our goal is to create a sustainable off-line and on-line "arts" educational program, the platform where youth can profile their creative achievements and further their education and internationalism.

Ashoka International

Ashoka is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that "allows social entrepreneurs to thrive and enables the world’s citizens to think and act as changemakers."

We worked with them to develop their main site, http://www.ashoka.org/, and associated country sites using Drupal as the content mangement framework.

Stand Tall for the Great Bear Rainforest

Greenpeace has created a short film explaining the campaign for sustainability in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia. To promote the film and engage their supporters within BC, they organized movie nights where activists organized and hosted parties to view the movie, discussed the issue and worked together to support the campaign. The standtall.greenpeace.ca web site was created to facilitate and support these movie nights in BC during the spring of 2007.

Headwaters Insurance

As many web sites can attest, simply having a presence on-line isn't always the final word in web site development. The Headwaters Insurance company needed to update their look. They had an extremely tight budget and requested that we keep within their original specifications.

We opted to clean certain aspects of the code, introduced a Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) driven site instead of using in-line HTML and fixed their forms to interface with the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) for back-end code.

EntreBahn

EntreBahn, formerly known as HiTecHub, brings together businesses, investors and service providers.

For the initial version of the site, we researched evaluation systems that could be used to differentiate between relevant and not so relevant content and users. So besides rating content, we were also interested in rating users based on the feedback of other users.

Best Related Links

We've done the preliminary work required to begin developing new and enhanced features for a Drupal module, Related Links. Drupal is a popular open-source content management system (CMS). Related Links consists of a box on a web site that can list links related to the current page's content.

Salon Voltaire

Salon Voltaire is a new venture specializing in intellectual entertainment - creating unique events to engage with ideas. Interested parties may now register for its events though an on-line registration system supplied by Openject Consulting.

Graydon James

This project focuses on two major components of Graydon James's web site, a web-based calendar and a blog. The calendar allows for public access so that fans can know about performances and their details. It also allows for links to be placed in calendar entries. This gives the artist the ability to link directly to the blog entry for a specific event. A useful feature of this blog is that entries can be titled.

Student Extranet

This extranet project consists of groupware components encapsulated in a Content Management System (CMS). It is a private system restricted to members of the organization. The base components are that of a calendar, a resource database, and an e-mail configuration tool.

Banjo Puppets

We held responsibility for the technical direction and programming of Banjo Puppets. A single script was introduced to navigate among the different sections and content. Also, work was required to facilitate navigation among thumbnails of the puppet photographs and the actual full-size photographs themselves. New photographs and other content may be added at any time by the artist; very little technical knowledge is required by him.

Older Projects

We were involved in creating the search functionality for Contact Point. Enhanced features include support for multiple sections, pagination, and sorting by any column in the result set. Internal mailing lists were also established.

We developed a web site for a group of health providers. This work focused on customized user management, allowing new users to create accounts and existing users to manage their accounts. Search functionality was enhanced for their on-line phone directory.

The producers at the television show counterSpin, broadcast on CBC's Newsworld, needed an internal database with a custom interface. This system facilitated management of all of the guests on their show.
