FSOSS 2006

On Friday, October 27th, 2006, members of the open-source community converged on Seneca College's campus for FSOSS 2006, the Free Software and Open Source Symposium.

It drew a large crowd, some great talks, and lunch. ;) There were some really interesting folks that I talked to, including Mark Surman of the International Development Research Centre and Ren Bucholz of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Marcel Gagné's presentation was my favourite. He was quite an animated speaker, and had a lot to offer. Most memorable, however, were IBM's Linux TV commercials that he showed.

Some pictures from the event are available at http://fsoss.senecac.on.ca/2006/pics/. And recorded presentations can be found at http://fsoss.senecac.on.ca/2006/recordings/index.html.
